Man sought in violent robbery of convenience store

Las Vegas police are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect in the May 21 robbery of a convenience store near Lake Mead Boulevard and Torrey Pines Drive.

The suspect entered a convenience store in the 2400 block of Lake Mead about 3:20 a.m. He approached the counter with a beverage, threw a bottle of liquor at the clerk, jumped on the counter and began hitting the clerk in the face.

The suspect then took a plastic garbage bag from one of the garbage cans and placed multiple cigarettes in the bag before jumping back over the counter.

Police described the suspect as a clean-cut man about 26 years old, standing about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build and short brown hair.

At the time of the robbery the suspect wore a black T-shirt, a black, hooded jacket with rainbow-colored checkers, khaki cargo pants and black shoes with white soles. He also was wearing a large gold watch with a black band on his left wrist and a black hat with a red Chicago Bulls logo on the front.
