Man struck, killed trying to cross Boulder Highway on Tuesday identified

The man who was struck and killed trying to cross Boulder Highway in Henderson on Tuesday night has been identified.
About 11:15 p.m., Henderson resident Pete Gorniak, 43, was struck by a Toyota Tacoma driven by 67-yar-old Wilfredo Sanchez, the Henderson Police Department said in a statement.
Police said Gorniak was trying to cross Boulder Highway near King Street and was apparently outside of a marked crosswalk. Sanchez and his unidentified passenger were uninjured, police said.
Alcohol, drugs and speed aren’t considered as factors in the crash, police said.
The Clark County coroner ruled his death an accident caused by multiple injuries from bring struck by a motor vehicle.
Seven people have died in fatal traffic-related incidents in Henderson this year, police said.
