The 63-year-old man who died in a Sunday morning in an east valley apartment complex has been identified.
The man’s name was Billy Jernigan, the Clark County coroner’s office said.
Las Vegas police said Jernigan, who was driving a 2004 Ford Explorer, was going in reverse in the parking lot of the apartment complex, 1950 N. Walnut Rd., near East Lake Mead Boulevard, when the Ford’s rear bumper hit a parking structure.
Jernigan was taken to North Vista Hospital after police found him unresponsive in the driver seat. He died of cardiac arrest, the coroner’s office said.
The SUV and the parking structure had minor damage.
