Metro investigating shooting in southwest valley

Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting in the southwest valley.

Police were called to a residential area on the corner of Haunts Walk Avenue and Magrath Street at 1:46 p.m. to look into a report of people shooting from a vehicle, Metro said.

Officers found a vehicle that matched the description and attempted to stop the car, Metro spokesman Officer Jesse Roybal said. The vehicle did not stop, so officers pursued the vehicle briefly before taking two people into custody.

At the same time, two people drove themselves to a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds, Roybal said. Those people were transferred to University Medical Center with wounds that were not described as life-threatening, Roybal said.

Additional details about the shooting were not immediately released.
