Motorcyclist killed in Saturday crash ID’d; search for driver continues

Metro is looking for the driver of a vehicle who fled the scene of a fatal motorcycle crash Saturday night in the east valley.

Two people were riding on the Suzuki GSXR motorcycle, Metro said in a release. Victor Alejandro Gonzalez, 21, of Las Vegas, died and the other person was critically injured.

First responders were called about 10:10 p.m. to the intersection of Charleston Boulevard and Sacramento Drive, just west of U.S. Highway 95, Metro said.

An initial investigation determined that the motorcycle was going east on Charleston when a 2002 Hummer H2, which was on Charleston turning into Sacramento, crossed its path, Metro said.

The motorcycle riders were ejected, Metro said. The driver of the Hummer fled on foot and left his passenger, who suffered minor injuries, behind.

The driver of the Hummer was described by Metro as being a Hispanic man with short hair.

Anyone with information of his whereabouts or on the crash can call Metro at 702-828-8189. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
