The man who was died after being struck by cars Thursday night on Interstate 15 is believed to be a tourist, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.

The Clark County coroner’s office identified him as 57-year-old Aarnout Michael Berry, of Anchorage, Alaska. He was trying to cross the freeway south of Tropicana Avenue when he was struck by a Toyota pickup in the express lanes just after 7 p.m.

Berry was hit by at least two vehicles including the Toyota, NHP trooper Loy Hixson said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers of the two cars, described only as males, were not injured.

Hixson said that Berry was in town with a someone he described only as female, but she was not present during the accident. Their relationship was not immediately known.

The express lanes were shutdown for about four hours.
