Pedestrian struck, killed on US 95 near Durango

A pedestrian on U.S. Highway 95 near Durango Drive was killed when he was hit by a semi-tractor trailer late Wednesday night, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

Troopers were called to the northbound lanes, about half a mile from the Durango exit, shortly before midnight, NHP trooper Loy Hixson said.

The man died at the scene, Hixson said.

Troopers said they didn’t know what the man was doing on the highway since they didn’t find a disabled vehicle nearby and he was about half a mile away from any ramp.

The Clark County coroner’s office was tasked with trying to identify the man because he didn’t have ID on him.
