Las Vegas police have identified the man they say was under the influence when he hit and killed a 30-year-old pedestrian during a crash Thursday evening.
Nicholas Brooks, 38, from Las Vegas, was driving a 1994 Chevrolet C1500 on south Lamb Boulevard shortly before 7 p.m. when he hit a man north of East Alto Avenue, police said Friday.
The pedestrian, who will be identified by the Clark County coroner’s office, was wearing dark clothes and was not on a crosswalk during the crash, police said. He died at the scene.
Brooks stayed at the scene and was arrested on charges of misdemeanor DUI. The charge was not a felony because initial investigations indicate the pedestrian was at fault, police said.
