Police identify man arrested in girlfriend’s stabbing death

Las Vegas police have identified the man suspected of fatally stabbing his girlfriend Saturday.

Wesley Perry, 60, was arrested in San Bernardino, Calif., and is awaiting extradition to Las Vegas.

Police found Dorothy Larry, 69, dead from multiple stab wounds to the chest when they conducted a welfare check about 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Rancho Verde Apartments, 98 S. Martin Luther King Blvd., near Bonanza Road.

Perry was arrested shortly after Larry's body was found. Police have said the two were in a dating relationship.

Police said Perry called multiple family members and told them "something bad had happened" and that he had "hurt someone." Larry's family alerted police, who found Larry's body in the Las Vegas apartment.

The motive for the slaying appeared to be related to domestic violence, and Perry is facing one count of murder with a deadly weapon, police said Monday.

This is the 119th homicide investigated by Metro in 2015.
