Las Vegas police have arrested a woman in the stabbing death of an 84-year-old woman in late July.
Margarita Balandova, 28, of Las Vegas was arrested Thursday and charged with murder with a deadly weapon, robbery with a deadly weapon, home invasion and first-degree arson, according to a release Friday from Metro. She is being held at the Clark County Detention Center.
Balandova is accused in the July 29 killing of Mary Luebeck, who the Clark County coroner's office said was stabbed in the head, neck and chest.
Luebeck was found dead in her central valley townhouse inside a gated community in the 3200 block of Opera Drive, near the intersection of Decatur Boulevard and Desert Inn Road.
Metro said the motive remains unknown. This was the department's 62nd homicide case of 2015.
