Power restored to thousands in Las Vegas Valley

More than 3,500 NV Energy customers across the Las Vegas Valley were without power for nearly four hours Monday, according to NVenergy.com.
The number of people affected by outages dropped to 210 before 2:30 p.m., the site showed.
One of the major outages was located near Boulder Highway and US Highway 95, according to the Regional Transportation Commission.
That outage was reported at 11:16 a.m. and was restored by 2 p.m. The outage affected 1,502 customers, according to NV Energy's website.
Another major outage near Jones Boulevard and Washington Avenue affected 1,802 customers. The outage was reported at 9:31 a.m. and power was restored by 2:15 p.m.
About 70 people were without power about 2:20 p.m. near Martin Luther King Boulevard and West Carey Avenue due to the windstorm. About 90 were without power at the same time near North Decatur Boulevard and Vegas Drive due to "equipment failure," NV Energy's site showed.
Both outages were expected to be resolved by 2:45 p.m., the site said.
