Robbery leads to shooting, car crash

Four people were injured in a car crash while fleeing from police Monday night, according to Metro.

Las Vegas police supervisor Lt. Dave Valenta said officers responded to the 1800 block of Plantea Court, near West Oakey Boulevard and South Buffalo Drive, after receiving calls about 8:14 p.m.

One person was shot at least twice in a home invasion and robbery, which police said was likely drug related.

The person who was shot was taken to University Medical Center with injuries that were not described as life-threatening, Valenta said.

Patrol officers tracked a description of the vehicle used in the robbery to Flamingo Road, where the car raced away and ran off the road. The car crashed into a wall on the southeast corner of the Flamingo and Valley View Boulevard intersection, injuring all four occupants, Valenta said.

The people from the crash were also taken to UMC with injuries that were not described as life-threatening.

Valenta confirmed the occupants of the car were suspected in connection with the robbery and shooting, and they will be booked at the hospital.

Additional details were not immediately available late Monday night.
