Saturday’s low broke a record by being too high

Saturday's low was actually high.

At 78 degrees, the low broke the record for the warmest early morning temperature in the Las Vegas Valley for Sept. 26.

The previous record was 74 degrees from 2013, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Chad Shafer.

And the high wasn't far from a record. At 101, it was just four degrees lower than the 105-degree record set in 1946, the Weather Service said. The average high for Sep. 26 is just 90 degrees.

Sunday's high should reach 100, with the nighttime lows dipping to 78 again. Highs should inch into the 90s as the week progresses.
