Smoke report grounds JetBlue flight in Las Vegas

A JetBlue flight heading to San Francisco from Las Vegas was grounded due to reported smoke Friday afternoon, a McCarran International Airport spokesman said.

Flight 2589, which was scheduled to take off at 3:20 p.m., was grounded prior to taking flight, spokesman Chris Jones said.

The crew reported smoke, but the Clark County Fire Department did not find a sign of either smoke or fire, he said.

The plane carrying 135 people returned to the gate on its own power, Jones said. It wasn't immediately known if the flight was rescheduled.
