‘Suspicious package’ at Hard Rock Hotel found to not be a device
Las Vegas police and Clark County firefighters responded to a “suspicious package” at the Hard Rock Hotel near UNLV on Friday evening but later “determined it not to be a device,” and “all was clear” according to Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Charles Jenkins.
The package was initially reported about 8:22 p.m. Friday, Jenkins said. It was unclear why the package at the 4455 Paradise Road hotel was deemed suspicious.
Jenkins said no one was evacuated from the hotel, which is near Harmon Avenue.
The county fire department responded to the hotel at 10:20 p.m. for a precautionary “bomb squad response,” according to dispatch logs. As of 11 p.m. fire crews and police were still on scene.
