Two hospitalized after two-car crash

Two people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in the northwest valley Wednesday afternoon, Las Vegas police said.

The crash happened about 3:10 p.m. at the intersection of Centennial and Grand Montecito Parkways, a release from the Metropolitan Police Department read late Wednesday.

A 2005 Chevorlet Suburban with two 17-year-old girls inside was headed westbound on Centennial just as a 1991 Cadillac Sedan Deville with two adults inside was headed eastbound on the same road.

As the Chevrolet entered the Grand Montecito intersection, the Cadillac turned left into the intersection and in front of the teens. The teens slammed into the right side of the Cadillac but only one was wounded, and her injuries were minor.

The two people in the Cadillac were taken to University Medical Center in critical condition. As of Wednesday night, the driver, a 42-year-old man, was recovering from moderate injuries and the passenger, a 37-year-old woman was still in serious condition.

The crash caused police to shut down the intersection for a few hours as investigators documented the scene. It was unclear who was at fault for the crash as of Wednesday night since Metro was still investigating.
