Two police officers injured in crash

Two Las Vegas police officers were injured after an east valley crash Sunday afternoon, the department reported.

Just after 4 p.m., a patrol car that was transporting a prisoner collided with a Toyota RAV4 at Charleston Boulevard and Arlington Street.

The Toyota turned left in front of the patrol car in the intersection, Metro reported, resulting in the crash.

The patrol car went off the road and hit a block wall. Both officers in the patrol car, and the driver of the Toyota, were taken to University Medical Center with what Metro called serious injuries.

All three men were able to leave the hospital Sunday evening. Metro did not release the officers’ names.

The prisoner who was being transported had minor injuries and was taken to the detention center by another police car.
