December 7, 2015 - 1:03 pm
A woman was critically injured in a crash near the 215 Beltway and Sunset Road Monday morning, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
The woman, 37, was driving a Hyundai sedan eastbound on Sunset Road about 9:30 a.m. when she crossed an island and collided with a minivan traveling southbound on the beltway on-ramp.
The Hyundai rotated from the collision and crashed into a guard rail. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and transported to Sunrise Hospital, where she is in stable condition, according to NHP.
Speed appears to be a factor, and the driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic, according to Trooper Chelsea Stuenkel.
