A woman died and seven people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on state Route 160 in Pahrump, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
Troopers were called at 10:38 a.m. Saturday to the highway's intersection with Bell Vista Road, about 60 miles west of Las Vegas, according to NHP's website.
A Hyundia van carrying five people and a Ford SUV carrying three people were traveling in opposite directions, NHP trooper Loy Hixson said. The van was turning on Bell Vista when the SUV crashed into it, he said.
The woman killed was a passenger in the van, Hixson said.
Six people were taken to a local hospital and one person was airlifted to University Medical Center. They were all expected to survive.
The woman killed will be identified by the Clark County coroner's office.
