A 31-year-old woman was in critical condition after a crash early Saturday morning in the northwest valley, according to Las Vegas police.
Metro officers were called just after 3 a.m. to Durango Drive, north of West Tropical Parkway, where a 2006 Toyota Corolla swerved, struck a median and then struck a 30-feet tall palm tree, knocking it over, police wrote in a release.
The Las Vegas woman driving the car was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was thrown from the Toyota, police said. It is unclear why she drifted out of her lane, the release said.
The woman was taken to University Medical Center with critical injuries, the release said.
