8-vehicle crash jams I-15 South
Traffic is crawling on southbound Interstate 15, near Charleston Boulevard, after an eight-vehicle wreck Wednesday evening.
Nevada Highway Patrol responded just before 7:30 p.m. to southbound I-15, south of Charleston, the agency's traffic site said.
Only the center lane of traffic was open at 8 p.m., NHP Trooper Loy Hixson said. One of the vehicles involved is on the left shoulder, two are on the right and the remaining cars are in travel lanes, he said.
Three people were hospitalized with non-serious injuries, Hixson said, but lanes will likely be restricted for an hour because it will be difficult for eight tow trucks to make their way to the wreck.
The cause of the crash has not been released yet.
Traffic cameras showed traffic backed up to Sahara at 8 p.m.
