Chance of showers could dampen Labor Day weekend plans in the Las Vegas Valley.
A 20 percent chance will linger through Sunday evening with breezy conditions. “We could see some winds from the thunderstorms in the mountains,” National Weather Service meteorologist Chelsea Kryston said.
Saturday’s temperatures peaked at 107, meteorologist Caleb Steele said. Sunday is expected to offer some relief from the heat at 100 degrees. The average temperature around this time of year is 99 degrees, the weather service said.
Labor Day’s high should reach 102 degrees before the valley jumps back into its recent above-normal temperature trend with a Tuesday high of 106.
Overnight temperatures Labor Day weekend are expected in the lower 80s.
