Cloudy and windy but no rain for Las Vegas Valley on Monday
The Las Vegas Valley can expect partly cloudy skies and light winds through the new year’s first week.
Tuesday’s high should reach 55 degrees as winds from Monday’s advisory subside. The previous 40 mph gusts should decrease to light 10 to 15 mph winds, meteorologist John Adair said.
Skies should remain partly cloudy through Friday until clouds and a chance of rain arrive for the weekend, the Weather Service said.
Wednesday and Thursday should have highs of 58 degrees; Friday’s forecast high is 53 degrees. Morning lows will remain in the mid-to-upper 40s until the weekend.
A 30 percent chance of rain is expected to creep into the valley Sunday and “could be an all-day event if it gets started,” Adair said.
Chances of snowfall in the mountains above 8,000 feet in elevation start at 30 percent Saturday night and rise to 50 percent Sunday morning, Adair said.
