Cool weather, winds in store for Las Vegas Valley this week

Windy and cooler conditions are expected through the week in the Las Vegas Valley.

Monday’s forecast high is 94 degrees with sunny skies and winds gusting up to 30 mph in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Winds should die down Tuesday, with some afternoon breezes. By Wednesday, however, the winds will pick up again, gusting between 20 and 30 mph, according to the weather service. A 91-degree high is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Highs will drop to 85 degrees Thursday, meteorologist Caleb Steele said, which is about 10 degrees below the average temperature for this time of year.

On Friday, the first day of the three-day Life is Beautiful music festival in downtown Las Vegas, the high is expected to drop below 80 degrees for this first time since May 18. Festivalgoers can expect a 78-degree high and a 59-degree nighttime low as the first day of the festival comes to an end.
