‘Dry and quite nice’ weather in store for Las Vegas

Following a few days of cooler temperatures, Las Vegas is going to warm up again to temperatures higher than average, according to the National Weather service.

Saturday saw an official high of 61 degrees, and the low overnight into Sunday is expected to be 41 degrees, according to the weather service.

The average temperature for this time of year is 61 degrees, meteorologist John Salmen said.

The weekend kicks off a period of "dry and quite nice" weather expected to last all week, meteorologist Chad Shafer said. No precipitation is expected in the Las Vegas Valley or in the mountains, he said.

Super Bowl Sunday's high temperature will be about 67 degrees and breezy winds can be expected from the north at 10 to 20 mph, Salmen said. These winds could last for the next two days, he added.

Warming will continue after Sunday, with a high of 68 degrees on Monday. Tuesday is expected to begin a period of high temperatures in the 70s that will likely last into next weekend. These temperatures are about 10 degrees above average, Shafer said.
