Dry heat settles in Las Vegas Valley as temperatures rise into weekend

Weather in the Las Vegas Valley continues to be dry and will get even hotter as the weekend approaches.

The previously reported chance for moisture during the middle of this week has dissipated, so the dry heat is here to stay, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday’s high temperature was 108 degrees and the lows for the week will be in the mid-80s, according to meteorologist Stan Czyzyk.

Gusty winds with speeds between 10 and 20 mph are expected until Thursday, according to the weather service.

Wednesday will have a high near 107 degrees, and then temperatures rise from there.

The high on Thursday should be 108 degrees; Friday, 110; and Saturday, 111, Czyzyk said.

Those temperatures are 3 to 5 degrees above normal, but are not high enough to threaten the current record-high temperatures, according to the weather service.

The normal temperature is 105, Czyzyk said.
