Haze from California wildfires to start clearing out of Las Vegas Valley
Haze from a week of fires in California should begin clearing out Saturday when northerly winds sweep into the Las Vegas Valley Saturday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service meteorologist.
“Ideally, we should have less hazy skies starting tomorrow,” meteorologist John Adair said Friday.
The valley will see a slight drop in temperatures Saturday as winds pick up. The high is expected to be 78 degrees. Breezes should be between 15 and 25 mph, with gusts near 30 mph.
Windier conditions are expected near Lake Mead and toward Laughlin, Adair said. A wind advisory will take effect in the area at 10 a.m. Saturday until 2 p.m. Sunday, with gusts potentially reaching 45 mph.
Sunday will follow with a 78-degree high, the weather service said. Winds are forecast to die down Sunday.
