Hot weather continues in Las Vegas Valley with little chance of rain

The Las Vegas Valley continues to be hot and sunny in what the National Weather Service calls an “unusual” July.

“Temperaturewise, we are right on the money,” meteorologist Caleb Steele said.

Monday had a high temperature of 107 degrees and a low of 84 degrees, he said.

“We’ll stay dry, which isn’t too normal. At some point, we get monsoons kicking in,” Steele said.

But, there will be afternoon breezes gusting up to 20 mph, according to the weather service. Winds are expected to decrease over the next few days.

Temperatures gradually climb as the weekend nears with a 106-degree high on Tuesday. The lows for the week remain in the low to mid-80s, Steele said.

Wednesday’s high will be near 107 degrees and Thursday will be about 108 degrees, Steele said.

Friday will be the hottest day this week with a forecast high of 109 degrees, the weather service said.
