Rain could last through most of weekend in Las Vegas Valley
Keep those umbrellas and hooded jackets this weekend as plenty of rain is on tap for the Las Vegas Valley this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service issued a flash-flood watch for Southern Nevada on Friday that will last through Saturday evening. Heavy rainfall may cause flooding in washes and intersections with poor drainage, meteorologist Andy Gorelow said.
Heavy rain fell Friday, which had a high of 64 degrees. By Friday evening, the chance of rain increased to 90 percent, and precipitation is expected to continue most of Saturday, which has a forecast high of 57 degrees.
On Sunday morning, the chance for rain will drop to 50 percent, and the forecast high is 62 degrees.
Mount Charleston is expected to receive as much as a foot of snowfall Saturday, a development likely to attract more visitors over the weekend.
The Nevada Highway Patrol also expects crowding at Mount Charleston over the weekend and urges the public to check road conditions before going, according to its Twitter account.

By Sunday afternoon, skies should clear up, and the chance for rain will decrease to 20 percent, Gorelow said.
Monday should stay dry with a high of 66 degrees, and Tuesday’s high could reach 69 degrees.
