Warm today, but cooler temps coming to Las Vegas Valley

Highs for the Las Vegas Valley are still above normal for this time of year, but a gradual downward temperature trend is expected through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Thursday saw a high of 80 degrees — 10 degrees above normal — and Friday’s high is expected to be the same, according to National Weather Service meteorologist John Salmen.

Saturday and Sunday have expected highs of 75 and 77 degrees, respectively. High clouds also will hover above the valley.

“Just enough to block a little bit of sunshine,” Salmen said.

Meteorologists are monitoring a weather system that may bring significant change in temperature by the middle of next week.

There is no chance of rain throughout the rest of the week into next week.
