ROUNDUP: Perez sparks Tech’s girls to win

Claudia Perez placed first individually on Tuesday to lead Tech to victory in a four-team meet at Sunset Park.

Perez posted a time of 18 minutes, 30 seconds to win the 2.65-mile race. The Roadrunners finished with 42 points. Silverado (50) was second, followed by Valley (57) and Rancho (76).

Valley’s Wendy Villa placed second individually in 18:40.

Leedy wins by more than two minutes to lead Foothill
At Foothill, Leah Leedy won the 2.5-mile race in 15:34.4, more than two minutes ahead of second-place finisher Miranda Halliday (17:44.5), also of Foothill.

Foothill finished with 17 points to win the team title. Basic was the only other complete team in the meet, finishing second with 46 points.

Gaels place three in top six to win
At Desert Oasis, Bishop Gorman had three runners in the top six, finishing with 42 points to edge second-place Cimarron-Memorial (51).
Durango (58) was third, followed by Desert Oasis (68) and Virgin Valley (137).

Meghan O’Callaghan placed fourth individually in 19:43.5 to lead Gorman.

Desert Oasis took the top two spots, with Lizenda Licea-Diaz winning the 2.5-mile race in 18:53.5. Trissa Combs was second in 19:15.1.

Aggies put five in top seven
At Floyd Lamb Park, Katie Carrell led five Arbor View runners in the top seven, finishing first in a 3.1-mile race in 20:49.

Arbor View had a team score of 22 points to win the five-team meet. Palo Verde was second with 32, followed by Sierra Vista (107), Bonanza (110) and Pahrump Valley (112).

Palo Verde's Kelsi Koch was second in 22:04, one second ahead of Arbor View's Kourtney Willey.

Pack helps Laughlin win meet
At Mountain View Park, Laughlin placed five runners in the top eight, including a pack in the sixth, seventh and eighth spots, to win a four-team meet.

Laughlin had a team score of 27. Liberty was second with 48. Spring Valley took third with 74, followed by River Valley (Ariz.) with 94.

Liberty's Joslyn Evans won the 2.25-mile race in 16:26, one second faster than Laughlin's Jessica Gnadt.
