FLAG FOOTBALL: Carmell, Eagles top Sundevils

Jeanne Carmell threw two touchdown passes and ran for a score Tuesday to lead Boulder City’s flag football team to a 19-12 win at Eldorado.

Carmell hit Kinsey Smyth on a 20-yard scoring pass and tossed a 5-yard TD pass to Mackenzie Pluta. Smyth also ran for a 15-yard touchdown.

Kinsey Smyth had four interceptions for the Eagles.

Shelby Johnson had 40 yards rushing and 80 yards receiving, including a 60-yard TD catch for the Sundevils.

Desert Oasis 27, Western 0 — At Desert Oasis, Kylee Bauer tossed four first-half touchdown passes to lead the Diamondbacks by the Warriors.

Bauer completed 16 of 29 passes for 210 yards, including TD strikes of 3 and 18 yards to Sydni Aldan, 10 yards to Ariel Blockovich and 20 yards to Ashlyn Lee.

Aldan had six catches for 83 yards. Kayla Saucedo caught three passes for 24 yards and had three sacks for Desert Oasis.

Cimarron-Memorial 46, Mojave 12 — At Cimarron, Jaymee Luke rushed for 182 yards and four scores and went 7 of 13 passing with two TDs as the Spartans routed the Rattlers.

Rosie Del Rosario ran for 84 yards on 13 attempts and caught a 10-yard TD pass, and teammate Logan Delong caught two touchdown passes for Cimarron.

Coronado 32, Chaparral 0 — At Coronado, Heaven Lucero passed for 165 yards and four touchdowns to help the Cougars rout the Cowboys.

Kylie Keyer finished with 107 receiving yards and two touchdowns for Coronado, and teammate Ariana Grgas added two TD receptions.

Foothill 32, Liberty 0 — At Foothill, Sam Fennell completed 25 of 44 passes for 331 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Falcons past the Patriots.

Foothill’s RaeAnn Brems ran for two scores and had nine receptions for 172 yards and a touchdown. Teammate Sayonna Thunstrom scored two touchdowns, one on a 12-yard reception and another on a 28-yard interception return.

Centennial 19, Clark 0 — At Centennial, Tiana Bonds rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries as the Bulldogs blanked the Chargers.

Bonds had TD runs of 1 and 15 yards, and Ashley Marshall added a 10-yard TD run for Centennial, which racked up 229 yards on the ground.

Legacy 33, Virgin Valley 6 — At Legacy, Shardell Purdy ran for two touchdowns and threw a TD pass to help the Longhorns down the Bulldogs.

Avi’Ana Shelton rushed for 110 yards on 18 carries, and Tierra Watson returned an interception 63 yards for a touchdown for Legacy.

Flag Football title games postponed to Monday

The Class 4A and Class 3A state flag football championship games which were scheduled for Thursday and postponed until Friday have again been postponed after the Clark County School District canceled all classes and after-school activities for Friday. The games will be played Monday at Cimarron-Memorial.

Mountain Region: Third time charm for Bonanza against Palo Verde

The Bengals, who’d lost to Palo Verde twice this season, turned the tables on the Panthers in the Mountain Region championship game on Tuesday night. Bonanza got 116 yards rushing and two touchdowns from Charlene Beck to earn a 20-12 victory at Green Valley.

Desert Region: Gators knock off Coronado to claim championship

Deborah Grant rushed 21 times for 80 yards, and Jazlyn Camacho caught the go-ahead touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to help the Gators edge the Cougars, 13-6 for the Desert Region Championship at Green Valley.
