FLAG FOOTBALL: Johnson, Sundevils edge Patriots

Eldorado’s Shelby Johnson rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries Thursday to help the Sundevils to a 12-7 road win over Liberty in flag football.

Leticia Gutierrez supplied two interceptions for Eldorado, which also got four tackles and an interception from Paula Ramirez.

Coronado 14, Tech 6 — At Coronado, Kylie Keyer rushed for 173 yards and tossed a 65-yard touchdown to Lauren Pleimann to lead the Cougars over the Roadrunners.

Le’i Henriques also hauled in a 21-yard touchdown pass from Heaven Lucero in the second half to make it 14-0. Ava Bracey led the Cougars on defense with five tackles and two sacks.

Kattleya Sabaneco had a 30-yard TD reception late in the second half for Tech.

Bonanza 20, Clark 13 — At Clark, Cheyenne Crouch had 210 yards rushing on 25 carries, including a 4-yard TD and two point-after conversions, to propel the Bengals over the Chargers.

Brianna Hernandez had a 10-yard TD run for Bonanza to tie the game at 13 at halftime and supplied a 1-yard TD rush for the go-ahead score in the second half.

Stephanie Chavez rushed for two scores for Clark.

Centennial 25, Mojave 6 — At Mojave, Talia Bonds scored two touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs over the Rattlers.

Taylor Reeves and Ashley Marshall each added a TD for Centennial.

Dilyn Johnson rushed for Mojave’s touchdown.

Boulder City 12, Del Sol 6 — At Boulder City, Kinsey Smith intercepted two passes and caught a 20-yard TD strike from Jeanne Carmell to lead the Eagles over the Dragons.

Carmell completed 8 of 9 passes for 125 yards and two scores. The other TD pass was a 15-yard toss to Jane Nevarez, who also recorded a sack.

Logan Kanaley added nine tackles and an interception for Boulder City.

Lauren Cranor scored for Del Sol.

Cimarron-Memorial 32, Western 20 — At Western, Jaymee Luke ran for 159 yards and threw three touchdowns, and the Spartans shut out the Warriors in the second half to get the win.

Luke completed 10 of 18 passes. Logan DeLong caught seven passes for 80 yards and two scores, and DeShan Cambrit caught two passes for 40 yards and a TD.

Rosie Del Rosario ran for two touchdowns for Cimarron.

For Western, Alejandra Alvarez hauled in two touchdowns, one from Kassidy Pahia and another from Larissa Herrera. Also, Tamika King returned an interception 60 yards for a touchdown.

Desert Oasis 26, Virgin Valley 0 — At Mesquite, Kylee Bauer completed 20 of 28 passes for 206 yards and three touchdowns as the Diamondbacks blanked the Bulldogs.

Sydni Aldan caught 10 passes for 120 yards and two TDs, and Ashlyn Lee had eight catches for 61 yards and a score for Desert Oasis. Kayla Saucedo rushed 10 times for 78 yards and a score for the Diamondbacks.

Class 4A: Deborah Grant rushes Green Valley to championship

Deborah Grant ran for 189 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries to twice lead the Gators to a 14-13 victory over Bonanza in the Class 4A state flag football championship game on Monday.

Class 3A: Team effort lifts Del Sol to first state title

Stephanie Tewart tossed two touchdown passes to Janeth Varela to help the Dragons to a 19-6 win over the Bulldogs and the program’s first state title.

Flag Football title games postponed to Monday

The Class 4A and Class 3A state flag football championship games which were scheduled for Thursday and postponed until Friday have again been postponed after the Clark County School District canceled all classes and after-school activities for Friday. The games will be played Monday at Cimarron-Memorial.

Mountain Region: Third time charm for Bonanza against Palo Verde

The Bengals, who’d lost to Palo Verde twice this season, turned the tables on the Panthers in the Mountain Region championship game on Tuesday night. Bonanza got 116 yards rushing and two touchdowns from Charlene Beck to earn a 20-12 victory at Green Valley.

Desert Region: Gators knock off Coronado to claim championship

Deborah Grant rushed 21 times for 80 yards, and Jazlyn Camacho caught the go-ahead touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to help the Gators edge the Cougars, 13-6 for the Desert Region Championship at Green Valley.
