BASEBALL: Crone, Cowboys beat Chargers

Tyler Crone tossed a four-hitter and struck out 11 on Thursday to lead Chaparral’s baseball team to a 5-1 win at Clark.

Robert O’Connor was 2-for-4 with three RBIs for the Cowboys.

Matthew Thompson was 2-for-3 with a double for the Chargers.

Tech 12, Cheyenne 4 — At Cheyenne, Jalen Birch went 3-for-4 with five RBIs as the Roadrunners topped the Desert Shields.

Jayce Otis was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI for Tech.

Korey Poole was 1-for-3 with two RBIs for Cheyenne.

Boulder City 13, Spring Valley 4 — At Spring Valley, winning pitcher Preston Van Diest was 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs, and the Eagles used a seven-run sixth inning to pull away from the Grizzlies.

Peyton Koopman was 2-for-4 with a home run, three runs and two RBIs, and Zach Murphy went 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs and three RBIs for Boulder City. Steve Wagner was 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI, and Nolan Desantis was 2-for-4 with a triple, a run and an RBI for the Eagles.

Jake Sellinger went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs for Spring Valley.

Foothill 11, Del Sol 1 — At Foothill, Andrew Hauck tossed a four-hitter and went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI as the Falcons routed the Dragons in five innings.

Ricky Kinney was 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBIs, and Spencer Throgmorton was 2-for-2 for Foothill. Shay Landers went 1-for-3 with three RBIs for the Falcons.

Matt Styck was 1-for-2 with a run for Del Sol.

Williams (Ariz.) 17, Mountain View 3 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., the Vikings scored all of their runs in the final three innings of a six-inning win over the Saints in the Route 66 Tournament.

Josh Stanton was 2-for-2, and Ian Locke went 1-for-3 with a triple and a run for Mountain View, which led 2-0 after three innings.

Indian Springs 17-22, Beatty 0-5 — At Indian Springs, Nino Alvarez threw four scoreless innings and struck out eight in the opener as the Thunderbirds swept the Hornets in a pair of five-inning games.

Alvarez had two doubles and four RBIs, and Austin Thomas and Donald Watkins each had two doubles for Indian Springs in the first game.

In the nightcap, Devon Sickler was 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs and three RBIs, and Ty White had two doubles, two runs and two RBIs for Indian Springs. Daniel Highfield added a double and a triple for the Thunderbirds.

Beatty’s Nikolas Zamora had two hits in the second game.

Lake Mead 26, Adelson School 4 — At Oxford Park, Mitch Dolinar had three hits, and Jakob Bryan and Chris Rossetti each had two hits and three RBIs as the Eagles routed the Lions in four innings.

Julien Korastinsky also had three RBIs for Lake Mead, which scored 11 runs in the first inning.
