BASEBALL: Dismont, Sierra Vista stall Mustangs

Jacob Dismont was 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBIs to lead the Sierra Vista baseball team to a 6-2 road win over Shadow Ridge on Monday.

It was the first loss to an in-state team for the Mustangs

Dylon White drove in three runs in the second inning as the Mountain Lions took a 4-0 advantage.

Brady Hoskins was 2-for-3 with a double for the Mustangs, and teammate Jordan Hand hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning.

Faith Lutheran 12, Western 0 — At Western, Brandon Johnson tossed a five-inning no-hitter, walking one and striking out four, to lead the Crusaders by the Warriors.

Dakota Greenwalt went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Caleb Summerhays was 2-for-3 with a double, three runs and an RBI for Faith Lutheran. Logan
Etherington was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the Crusaders.

Spring Valley 6, Durango 5 — At Spring Valley, Connery Callaway was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the seventh to bring home Michael Macove with the winning run as the Grizzlies edged the Trailblazers.

Macove singled with no outs to score Logan Mace with the tying run.

Green Valley 6, Silverado 2 — At Green Valley, Ryan Jackson threw five shutout innings with seven strikeouts to lead the Gators over the Skyhawks.

Jackson took a no-hitter into the fifth before giving up a two-out hit, the only hit he allowed.

Troy Cropper went 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Cody Milner was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Green Valley. Keaton Smith was 2-for-3 with a run for the Gators.

Arbor View 5, Palo Verde 0 — At Palo Verde, Wyatt Burge and Ryan Chen combined on a one-hitter as the Aggies downed the Panthers.

Burge went four innings and allowed one hit with two strikeouts. Chen struck out five in three hitless innings.

Adam Koutz was 2-for-2 with a double and a walk, and Tyler Garrison was 1-for-3 with a solo homer for Arbor View.

Pahrump Valley 10, Clark 8 — At Clark, Dylan Ault went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer and five RBIs as the Trojans scored two runs in the top of the seventh to slide past the Chargers.

Ault knocked in the go-ahead run with an RBI triple with one out in the seventh and A.J. Segura drove him in with a sacrifice fly.

Christian Balding was 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI for Pahrump.

Justin Almazan went 3-for-4 with a double to pace Clark. 

Las Vegas 13, Valley 0 — At Valley, Jose Sanchez went 3-for-3 with two RBIs to power the Wildcats over the Vikings.

Hector Perez finished 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI for Las Vegas.

Jerome Byndloss, Nolan Cassell and Tyler Tidwell each doubled for the Wildcats.

Cheyenne 13, Mojave 0 — At Cheyenne, Austin Green hit a three-run home run to help lead the Desert Shields over the Rattlers in five innings.

Green finished 2-for-3, and Lamon Havey had a double, a triple, two runs and three RBIs for Cheyenne.

Joseph Rose fired a three-hitter to get the win.

Del Sol 13, Tech 3 — At Del Sol, Andrew Natale was 4-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs to lead the Dragons to the five-inning win over the Roadrunners.

Nick Trujillo was 4-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs for Del Sol.

Dylan Greer went the distance, allowing four hits and striking out six, to get the win.

Rancho 15, Canyon Springs 1 — At Rancho, the Rams scored 12 runs on the first inning and Andrew Wieger and Max Cruz combined on a no-hitter as the Rams downed the Pioneers in five innings.

Wieger threw three innings to get his fourth win.

Eric Allen went 3-for-4 with a triple, an inside-the-park home run, four RBIs and three runs to lead the offense. Bryce Harrell went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Rams.
