BASEBALL: Reyes, Warriors shut down Chargers

Western’s Edgar Reyes threw a six-hit shutout on Thursday to lead the Warriors to a 7-0 road win over Clark in baseball.

Reyes struck out nine with no walks.

Ryan Garbowski went 2-for-4 with an RBI double and a run for Western, which got a triple from Josh Yocum.

Justin Almazan finished 3-for-3 to lead Clark.

Coronado 9, Basic 5 — At Coronado, Chandler Blanchard went 2-for-2 with four RBIs, including a three-run homer, to lift the Cougars to victory over the Wolves.

Miles Bice was 3-for-3 with two RBIs for Coronado, which got two hits and a run from Cain Brady.

Josh McLean supplied a double, a single and a run to lead Basic.

Cimarron-Memorial 12, Legacy 1 — At Cimarron, Josh Nuernberg was 2-for-3 with a solo homer, and also pitched four scoreless innings to lead the Spartans to the five-inning win over the Longhorns.

Nuernberg allowed one hit and struck out four.

Gerald Robins was 2-for-3 with a grand slam, and Nick Borowski, Tanner McAninch, Jayson Hicks, Micquel Robinson and Jaime Yanchisin each added two hits for Cimarron.

Liberty 12, Eldorado 2 — At Eldorado, Giovanni Battistoni went 2-for-4 with three runs and an RBI to lead the Patriots over the Sundevils.

Chris Bradford supplied a double and an RBI, and James Martz drove in a run for Liberty.

Lucio Arreola went 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI for Eldorado.

Foothill 12, Del Sol 2 — At Del Sol, Collin Dobrolecki went 4-for-4 with a double, a home run and five RBIs to lead the Falcons to the five-inning win over the Dragons.

Ryan Moyes was 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs, and Zack Avery went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI for Foothill, which got two hits from Anthony Lopez.

Tyler Van Stone went the distance, allowing no earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts to get the win.

Boulder City 14, Moapa Valley 4 — At Boulder City, Corbett Fleming went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs and four RBIs to lead the Eagles over the Pirates in six innings.

Austin Wishard was 2-for-3 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI, and Tanner Howell went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and two RBIs for Boulder City. Colton Bosnos was 2-or-2 with three runs and an RBI for the Eagles.

Kasen Hughes went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Moapa Valley.

Tech 7, Pahrump Valley 2 — At Tech, Josh West went 2-for-4 with three runs and three stolen bases to help the Roadrunners defeat the Trojans.

Bryan Casas and Elias Peinado each went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Tech.

Dylan Ault hit a triple, and A.J. Segura went 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead Pahrump.

Bishop Gorman 10, Desert Oasis 0 — At Gorman, Matt Hudgins was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Cole Krzmarzick went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs to lead the Gaels to a five-inning win over the Diamondbacks.

Kai Domingo was 2-for-2 with an RBI, and Kenny Meimerstorf had a home run for Gorman.

Jerrel Latham threw four scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out three, to get the win.

Virgin Valley 12, Desert Pines 9 — At Desert Pines, Tanner Killmer had three hits, and winning pitcher Martin DeSantiago had a two-run double to lead the Bulldogs over the Jaguars.
