ROUNDUP: Arreola, Sundevils use four-run 10th to rally past Jaguars

Eldorado’s baseball team rallied for four runs in the top of the 10th inning to defeat Desert Pines 8-4 on Friday.

Lucio Arreola smacked a three-run triple with two outs in the inning for the final margin. Trey Bayless had an RBI single earlier in the inning to give the Sundevils the lead.

Arreola went 3-for-6 with a double, a triple and three RBIs and threw two innings of relief to get the win.

Johnny Wade was 3-for-5, and also allowed one earned run in eight innings with six strikeouts.

Bayless and Brandon Gallegos each added two hits and a run for the Sundevils.

Foothill 10, Del Sol 0 — At Foothill, Tyler Van Stone fired a no-hitter as the Falcons topped the Dragons in five innings.

Van Stone struck out nine and didn’t walk a batter.

Kevin Becker was 2-for-2 with three RBIs to lead the offense.

Faith Lutheran 2, Legacy 1 — At Faith Lutheran, Logan Etherington singled through the left side of the infield with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to score Erich Uelmen with the winning run.

Uelmen led off the inning with a single and went to third on a throwing error. Two outs later, Etherington came up with his second hit of the game.

Uelmen went the distance, allowing no earned runs on four hits with three strikeouts.

Legacy’s Avery Brandon threw a five hitter with three strikeouts.

Arbor View 4, Centennial 2 — At Arbor View, Zach Quintana pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts to pace the Aggies past the Bulldogs.

Quintana scattered six hits, and went 1-for-2 with a double, a run and an RBI.

Jordan Godman was 1-for-3 with a double, a run and two RBIs for Arbor View, which turned a double play to end the game.

Coronado 4, Basic 3 — At Coronado, the Cougars rallied for four runs in the bottom of the sixth to defeat the Wolves.

Chandler Blanchard drove in the tying run when his fly ball to right was lost in the sun and fell for an RBI double. Then with two outs, James Anderson hit a two-run single to give Coronado a 4-2 lead.

Basic plated a run in the top of the seventh and had the tying run at third, but Dylan Myers got Josh Gray to ground back to the mound to end the game.

Blanchard was 2-for-3 for the Cougars, who had five hits.

Tyler Long went 2-for-2 with two runs for Basic. Kyle Silva was 2-for-4 with a run, and Ryan Blatnik was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Wolves.

Silverado 12, Green Valley 2 — At Silverado, Bryan Faucher tossed a six-hitter with six strikeouts and went 2-for-4 with a run and three RBIs to lift the Skyhawks past the Gators in six innings.

Michael Meyers went 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and two RBIs, and Wyatt Reid was 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs for Silverado.

Valley 8, Chaparral 2 — At Chaparral, Carlos Bueno went 4-for-5 with two RBIs and a run to help the Vikings top the Cowboys.

Alex Tryon pitched a five-hitter and struck out 10 to get the win.

Valley used five singles to score five runs in the top of the sixth to break a 1-1 tie.

Chad Clark had a double and an RBI for Chaparral.

Las Vegas 8, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Dillon Dove threw a six-hitter with 10 strikeouts and one walk to lead the Wildcats past the Miners.

Jose Sanchez had two hits and two RBIs for Las Vegas.

Bishop Gorman 13, Durango 3 — At Gorman, Joey Gallo went 2-for-3 with four RBIs to lead the Gaels to the five-inning win.

A.J. Van Meetren was 2-for-3, and Cody Roper hit a solo home run for Gorman.

Jacob Dismont was 2-for-2 with a double, a home run and three RBIs for Durango.

Liberty 11, Tech 3 — At Liberty, Jay Martz went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI to help the Patriots down the Roadrunners.

Jesse Keiser went 2-for-3 with three RBIs to help Liberty, and Griffin Kelly was 2-for-2 with a triple.

Cimarron-Memorial 15, Cheyenne 5 — At Cheyenne, the Spartans scored nine runs in the top of the first and rolled to the five-inning win.

Josh Nuernberg was 2-for-4 with two triples, two runs and two RBIs, and Gerald Robins went 2-for-4 with a double, a run and two RBIs for Cimarron.

Justin Land was 2-for-3, and Jerraco Lindsey had a double and two RBIs to lead Cheyenne.

Palo Verde 16, Mojave 5 — At Mojave, Kevin DeSoto was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and four RBIs to power the Panthers past the Rattlers.

Andrew Dalaimo went 2-for-2 with a double, and Michael Vogelei threw three shutout innings to get the win.

Rancho 27, Canyon Springs 2 — At Canyon Springs, Matt Almodover went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and five RBIs to help the Rams rout the Pioneers in five innings.

Josh Mill went 3-for-5 with three RBIs to help Rancho, and teammate Bryce Harrell was 3-for-3 with three RBIs.

Shadow Ridge 15, Moapa Valley 5 — At Shadow Ridge, Logan Hold went 3-for-3 with four RBIs, and Demetrios Philippou was 3-for-3 with three runs and an RBI as the Mustangs downed the Pirates in five innings.

Mike Wager went 2-for-2 with a triple, a double and an RBI for Shadow Ridge, and teammate Josh Roelofs scored four runs.

Bradly Liuzza drove in two runs for Shadow Ridge.

Josh Repp went 2-for-2 for Moapa Valley, and Landon Willard and Camden Stratton each had two RBIs for the Pirates.

Boulder City 11-33, Virgin Valley 0-3 — At Mesquite, Tanner Howell tossed a two-hitter with 16 strikeouts and two walks in the opener to lead the Eagles to a sweep of the Bulldogs.

Bill Barth went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Colton Schulz was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs for the Eagles in the first game.

In the nightcap, Michael Hernandez was 3-for-3 with a home run, and Nate Hafen went 3-for-3 with four RBIs as Boulder City stormed to a win in five innings. Thomas Shelley tossed a one-hitter, walking three and striking out nine for the Eagles.

The Meadows 11-3, Needles 8-2 — At The Meadows, Justin Diamond struck out 13 in six innings in the first game, and Garrett Gosse pitched a five-hitter with eight strikeouts in the second game to lead The Meadows to a sweep of Needles.

Anthony Gord and Trevor Litwin each had three RBIs in the first game for The Meadows, which led 9-1 after three innings.

Brandon Thomas hit an RBI double to give The Meadows a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth in the second game.

Needles’ Jason Neverov hit a home run in the first game, and teammate Matt McAndrews fired a four-hitter with 14 strikeouts in the second game.

Calvary Chapel 10-14, Mountain View 5-3 — At Mountain View, Steven Shigley went a combined 5-for-7 with two home runs, a triple, two doubles and five RBIs to lead the Lions to a sweep of the Saints.

Shigley also struck out nine in four innings in the second game.

Shigley, Colby Sibley and Dillon Smith combined on a one-hitter in the second game.

Mountain View’s Logan Christie went 3-for-4 with a triple in the first game.

Indian Springs 12-5, Sandy Valley 1-3 — At Indian Springs, Xavier Pena and Dominic Morgando combined on a five-inning two-hitter in the first game, and Justin Rodriguez pitched a four-hitter with five strikeouts in the second game as the Thunderbirds swept the Sidewinders.

Indian Springs’ Ross Guaspari went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs in the first game. Devin Jackson had two doubles and Dominic Smith tripled and doubled for the Thunderbirds in the second game.
