ROUNDUP: Dalaimo scores Jaffe to help Panthers edge Bengals

Dan Jaffe singled to lead off the top of the eighth inning Saturday and scored the winning run on Andy Dalaimo’s sacrifice fly to left field as Palo Verde’s baseball team collected a 9-8 win at Bonanza.
 
Jaffe was 2-for-4 with a double for the Panthers, who also scored twice in the top of the seventh after the Bengals had taken an 8-6 lead by scoring six runs in the bottom of the sixth.
 
Cody Schuster was 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBIs for the Panthers, and teammate Zac Benson added a home run.
 
Eddie Orozco and Mario Franzese each went 2-for-4 for Bonanza, including a double for Orozco. Hunter Davidson was 2-for-5 with a double, and Kris Bryant added a homer for the Bengals.
 
Desert Oasis 11, Kalani (Hawaii) 1 — At Desert Oasis, Dillon Krasn was 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs to lead the Diamondbacks to the six-inning win.
 
Cody Schmidt was 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and three RBIs, and Brennen Stott hit 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI for Desert Oasis.

Rancho 12, Parowan (Utah) 2 — At Rancho, Josh Gomez threw a two-hitter to lead the Rams to a six-inning win.
 
Gomez allowed one earned run and struck out seven.
 
Zak Qualls was 3-for-4 with a double, and Kevin Kline and Eric Holdre each added two hits for Rancho.
 
Liberty 9, Parowan (Utah) 3 — At Liberty, Danny Topps was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Marcos Rivera drove in two runs to lead the Patriots.
 
Freshmen Nate Bennett and Giovanni Battistoni combined to allow two runs in six innings for Liberty.

Foothill 13, Boulder City 5 — At Boulder City, Kris Soto went 4-for-5 with a home run, double and two RBIs to lead the Falcons past the Eagles.
 
Foothill rallied from a 5-3 deficit after four innings by scoring nine runs in the sixth.
 
Gabby Soto was 3-for-4 with a double and one RBI for the Falcons. Teammates Kyle Moyes (2-for-3) and Jordan Stewart hit home runs.
 
Ryan Bowen went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles for Boulder City, and teammate Ross LaMarca batted 3-for-3. Colton Schulz homered for the Eagles.
 
SPRING SLAM
Battle Mountain 13, The Meadows 3 — At Mountain View, Louis Douglas pitched a complete game, allowing five hits in six innings, and batted 2-for-4 with a double and three runs to lead the Longhorns to a first-place finish over the Mustangs in the Spring Slam title game.
 
Heath Gould went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for The Meadows.

Victor Valley Christian (Calif.) 9, Beatty 7 — Jordan Maas hit a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth inning to help the Royals rally past the Hornets in five frames in the third-place game.
 
Ivan Maldonado went 2-for-3 with a double for Beatty.

Henderson International 13, Mountain View 3 — Boomer Sherrill pitched a five-inning one-hitter with eight strikeouts to help the Wolverines rout the Saints in the fifth-place game.
 
Sherrill’s two-run single highlighted a nine-run fourth inning for Henderson International.
 
Cortland LeBoeuf’s single to lead off the game was the only hit for Mountain View, which had seven errors.

The Meadows 12, Henderson International 1 — Brian Fahey went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs to lead the Mustangs past the Wolverines in four innings.
 
Fahey also allowed one run on two hits from the mound in four innings.
