ROUNDUP: Four-run second inning propels Bengals past Panthers

Hunter Davidson went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Bonanza’s baseball team used a four-run second inning to defeat visiting Palo Verde 6-3 on Thursday.

Sterling Sprau added a pair of RBIs, and Braiden Gray allowed four hits and struck out one in six innings to get the win for the Bengals.

Dillon Meyer went 2-for-3 with a triple, a double and an RBI for the Panthers.

Sierra Vista 6, Las Vegas 4 — At Las Vegas, Nick Kingham was 2-for 4, including a three-run home run in the sixth inning as the Mountain Lions edged the Wildcats.

Dusty Stevens was 2-for-2 with a home run and earned the win on the mound. Julian Cutolo went 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and teammate Jake Hager went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Sierra Vista.

Andrew Manfra, Tim Daniels and Jesse Acosta each had two hits for Las Vegas.

Valley 8, Tech 6 — At Valley, Hansel Escamilla went 3-for-3 with a home run, triple and three RBIs to lead the Vikings past the Roadrunners.

Hector Robles hit a two-run home run for Valley, and teammate Marcus Mejia went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Tech’s Travis James was 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI, and teammate Travis Canfield went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Silverado 4, Shadow Ridge 2 — At Shadow Ridge, Morgan Stotts pitched a complete game with six strikeouts and went 1-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored to lead the Skyhawks past the Mustangs.

Bobby Johnson went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple in the seventh for Silverado.

Shadow Ridge’s Josh Roeloffs went 2-for-4 with a double and a run, and Brandon Show went 3-for-3 with a run for the Mustangs.

Arbor View 15, Del Sol 9 — At Del Sol, Bryce Wildenberg earned the win and went 3-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs to lift the Aggies past the Dragons.

Arbor View’s Zack Hartman was 3-for-5 with a triple, three runs and two RBIs.

Jeff Coon went 2-for-5 with a triple and a grand slam, and teammate David Day was 3-for-3 with two doubles for Del Sol.

Green Valley 11, Centennial 1 — At Green Valley, Cameron Harper went 3-for-3 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs to help the Gators top the Bulldogs in five innings.

Bobby Shiroky went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs, and Evan Van Hoosier was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs for Green Valley.

Gabe Douglas added two hits, and Scott Arn homered for the Gators.

Nolan Kohorst threw a five-hitter to get the win.

Cody Clark’s solo homer accounted for Centennial’s run.

The Meadows 13, Beatty 3 — At Mountain View, Bobby Pisanelli was 4-for-5 with a double, a triple and three RBIs to lead the Mustangs past the Hornets in th Mountain View Spring Slam.

Austin Brown’s bases-loaded triple keyed an eight-run sixth inning for The Meadows.

Beatty’s Shayne Boots went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs.

Battle Mountain 12, Mountain View 0 — At Mountain View, Ryan Salazar hit a two-run homer, and Kade Jones was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs to lead the Longhorns past the Saints in the Mountain View Spring Slam.

Jake Harkness threw three hitless innings with four strikeouts to get the win.

Moapa Valley 10, Desert Pines 0 — At Overton, Dylan Mortensen pitched a six-inning one-hitter with five strikeouts and one walk as the Pirates routed the Jaguars.

Matt Vallet’s two-run triple highlighted the Pirates’ four-run fourth inning.
