ROUNDUP: Topps’ late single lifts Liberty past Basic

Danny Topps hit an RBI single in the top of the ninth to score Michael Vargas and give Liberty’s baseball team an 8-7 road victory over Basic on Thursday.
Vargas, who finished 2-for-5 with a double, led off the inning with a base hit for the Patriots, who trailed 7-1 after five innings.
Topps was 4-for-5 with a triple, two runs and two RBIs, and Teddy Efthemeou hit 2-for-4 with three RBIs for Liberty.
David Romero went 2-for-4 for the Wolves.
Eldorado 15, Canyon Springs 5 — At Eldorado, Alan Guerrero went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, three runs scored and two RBIs to help the Sundevils cruise past the Pioneers in five innings.
Winning pitcher Eric Larsen allowed six hits and struck out 12, and also hit 3-for-4 with a triple, a double, three runs scored and three RBIs.
Chris Brown was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs, and Lucio Arreola and Carlos Antuna each went 2-for-4 for Eldorado.
Valley 13, Desert Pines 3 — At Desert Pines, Hector Robles was 3-for-3 with a double, a run scored and five RBIs to lead the Vikings to the five-inning win over the Jaguars.
Levi Lawrence went 2-for-2 with two RBIs for Valley.
Amador Rivera was 2-for-2 for Desert Pines.
Las Vegas 11, Chaparral 2 — At Las Vegas, the Wildcats scored on two sacrifice flies in the first inning and cruised to the easy victory over the Cowboys.
Xavier Palmer went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Las Vegas.
Ricky Perez was 2-for-4 with a double and a home run for Chaparral.
Rancho 17, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Rancho, Zak Qualls struck out eight in three innings and combined with Scott Koenen, who struck out two, on a five-inning no-hitter as the Rams routed the Miners.
Jason Turner went 4-for-4 with three runs, Mike Cruz went 3-for-4 with three runs, and Josh Lange hit a solo home run for Rancho.

Two games postponed
The Green Valley at Coronado and Silverado at Del Sol games were postponed due to rain. No makeup dates have been announced.
