ROUNDUP: Yee single sparks Crusaders to win over Panthers

Brett Yee’s RBI single in the bottom of the fifth inning Friday broke a 7-7 tie and sparked a three-run inning as Faith Lutheran’s baseball team held on to edge visiting Palo Verde, 11-10.

The Crusaders added a run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Michael Kinkenon and another on an RBI triple by Bobby Burns.

Burns was 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and two runs, and Blake Matthias went 2-for-4 with three runs and a solo homer.

Dillon Meyer was 2-for-4 with a double and three runs for the Panthers, and teammate Andy Daliamo had three hits.

Legacy 14, Centennial 4 — At Centennial, Zach Monticelli went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and three RBIs, and the Longhorns scored four runs in the fifth and seven in the sixth to cruise past the Bulldogs in six innings.

Adam Thompson was 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and an RBI for Legacy. Winning pitcher Joey Lauria went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI, and Andres Ortiz was 2-for-5 with a home run and a double for Legacy.

Blane Bevilacqua smacked a solo home run for Centennial.

Cimarron-Memorial 9, Shadow Ridge 5 — At Shadow Ridge, the Spartans scored seven runs in the top of the fifth to come from behind and down the Mustangs.

Nathan Hale was 3-for-4 with two runs, and Bo Tampke went 3-for-4 with a run and two RBIs to lead Cimarron.

A.J. Hernandez added a two-run homer for the Spartans.

Brandon Show and Michael Wager each went 3-for-4 for Shadow Ridge.

Cheyenne 15, Mojave 4 — At Cheyenne, Jerraco Lindsey went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBis, and Cheyenne used a six-run third inning to break open the game and beat the Rattlers in five innings.

Andrew Graham went 2-for-3 and scored three runs for the Desert Shields.

Anthony Walker was 2-for-3 with a double for the Rattlers.

Bonanza 19, Pahrump Valley 1 — At Bonanza, Anthony Risucci was 3-for-3 with three RBIs as the Bengals blitzed Pahrump in five innings.

Mario Franzese was 2-for-2 with a triple, and Ted Merich went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Bonanza.

Winning pitcher Dominic Jeppi tossed a five-hitter with six strikeouts.

Desert Oasis 9, Western 1 — At Desert Oasis, Matt Garrett went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs to help the Diamondbacks top Western.

Jossaiah Raval added a pair of doubles and two RBIs, and Brennen Stott was 2-for-4 with a triple, a double, two runs and two RBIs for Desert Oasis.

Sierra Vista 20, Durango 0 — At Durango, Jake Hager and Scotty Tomassetti each had solo homers as the Mountain Lions quickly blasted Durango.

Pitchers Nick Kingham and Blair Goldsack shut out Durango, allowing a combined five hits.

Spring Valley 19, Clark 11 — At Clark, Johnny Hernandez went 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs to help the Grizzlies outslug the Chargers.

Josh Schuster was 4-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs for Spring Valley, and teammate Cameron Cole hit 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs.

Robby Brewster also homered for Spring Valley. Aaron Blair and Drew LaComb added two hits each for the Grizzlies, and Jose Rosales-Rodarte drove in three runs.

Wyatt Blackwell batted 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs to lead Clark. Greg McKinney was 3-for-5 for the Chargers. Mike Quiroz had two hits and three RBIs, and Issac Velasquez added two hits.

Foothill 12, Del Sol 3 — At Foothill, Jake Ferdinand hit 3-for-3 with a triple, a double, three runs and three RBIs, and the Falcons scored five runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to defeat the Dragons.

Jordan Stewart was 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs, and Kyle Moyes added a solo shot for Foothill.

David Day hit a two-run homer for Del Sol, and Daniel Doph added a home run.

Coronado 12, Basic 10 — At Coronado, Steven Pollex went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and three RBIs to lead the Cougars past the Wolves.

Matt Hall was 3-for-4 with an RBI for Coronado, which led 12-7 entering the seventh.

Six Basic players had two hits.

Liberty 15, Tech 5 — At Liberty, Teddy Efthemeou went 3-for-3 with a triple, two doubles, two runs and four RBI to help the Patriots overcome an early 3-0 deficit and down Tech in six innings.

Kainan Pickle was 3-for-3 with a double, two runs and two RBIs, and Manuel Menocal went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run and three RBIs for Liberty.

Josh West and Travis James each went 2-for-3 and scored a run for the Roadrunners.

Bishop Gorman 12, Wooster 2 — At Gorman, Johnny Sewald went 2-for-2 with a triple, a double and three runs scored as the Gaels downed Wooster in six innings.

Eric Van Meetren was 2-for-3 with a triple, a double, a run and two RBIs, and Joey Gallo added a three-run home run for the Gaels.

T.J. White tossed a three-hitter for Gorman, allowing only two walks and striking out 10.

Rancho 11, Arbor View 8 — At Rancho, Eric Holdren crushed a solo home run in the sixth inning, and the Rams added four runs with two outs on the way to the victory over the Aggies.

Zak Qualls was 3-for-4 with three runs for Rancho. Teammates Brandon Pletsch, Kevin Kline and Gabe Chavira each went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Scott Koenen hit 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Rams.

Colton Hinrickson had two hits and two RBIs, and Zack Hartman had two hits for Arbor View.

Eldorado 12, Moapa Valley 5 — At Overton, Chris Brown was 3-for-4 with a double and four runs to help the Sundevils beat the Pirates.

Eric Larsen tripled twice and scored three runs, and Lucio Arreola was 2-for-3 with a double, a run and two RBIs for Eldorado.

Virgin Valley 7-13, Boulder City 1-3 — At Mesquite, Jason Wittwer fired a three-hitter with nine strikeouts in the opener and went a combined 4-for-6 with two triples and a double to lead the Bulldogs to the sweep.

Brandt Eaton was 3-for-4 for Virgin Valley in the first game. Boulder City’s Ross LaMarca had a pair of doubles in the opener.

Daniel Gleave was 2-for-3 with two doubles for the Bulldogs in the nightcap.

The Meadows 13-14, West Wendover 3-4 — At West Wendover, Garrett Gosse went a combined 4-for-5 and was the winning pitcher with 10 strikeouts in the nightcap to highlight the Mustangs’ sweep of the Wolverines.

Mountain View 17-22, Agassi Prep 7-0 — At Agassi Prep, Alex Capozzoli was 6-for-7 in the two games and pitched a five-inning one-hitter with 11 strikeouts in the opener to help the Saints sweep the Stars.

Trevor Van Kempen went 2-for-3 with three RBIs in the first game and homered in the nightcap for Mountain View.

T.J. Engel was 3-for-4 for the Saints in the first game and homered in the second. Josh Killam also homered for Mountain View in the nightcap.

Needles 14-12, White Pine 8-3 — At Needles, Calif., Bobby Stahel went 4-for-5 with a home run and three doubles in the two games to lead the Mustangs to a sweep of the Bobcats.

Mason Cisneros was 4-for-4 with a triple and double for Needles in the opener.

Pahranagat Valley 10-13, Henderson International 0-3 — At Alamo, Chase Hansen was 8-for-8 as the Panthers swept the Wolverines.

Kade Wadsworth threw a two-hit shuotut in the first game, and Dustin Poulsen gave up one run in four innings to win in the second game.

Lake Mead 18, Trinity 3 — At Lake Mead, Spencer Kowis was 3-for-3 with two home runs and four RBIs as the Eagles pounded Trinity in five innings.

Mitchell Kowis was 2-for-4 with four RBIs, and Devin Serrano was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for Lake Mead.

James Zaino was 2-for-2 for the Thunder.

Beatty 12-11, Trona (Calif.) 2-0 — At Trona, Calif., Ricardo Pelayo tossed a no-hitter in the nightcap as Beatty swept a pair of five-inning games.

Pelayo walked one and struck out six. He also went 2-for-3 and drove in a run. Ramiro Hernandez went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Shayne Boots was 1-for-2 with two RBIs in the second game for Beatty.

In the opener, winning pitcher Anthony Regalado was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Isaias Flores went 3-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs, and Caesar Guerrero and Hernandez each went 2-for-3 for the Hornets.
