Basic, Silverado boys to meet in play-in game Monday

Basic's boys basketball team will face Silverado in a play-in game Monday to decide the Southeast League's final berth into the Sunrise Region playoffs.

Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at Coronado.

The Wolves and Skyhawks finished in a fourth-place tie at 6-8 in the Southeast. The teams split their season series and were even in the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association's second tiebreaker, wins by a team's beaten opponents, making the play-in game necessary.

The winner will visit Northeast League champion Canyon Springs to open the Sunrise playoffs Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

League play wraps up in the Northwest, Southwest and Northeast tonight. Check back later tonight for unofficial postseason pairings in both Class 4A and Class 3A.

League play concludes Saturday in the Class 1A and Class 2A Southern Leagues.
