BOYS BASKETBALL: Jones’ big night sends Sundevils by Patriots

Eldorado’s Carmonte Jones hit two free throws to break a 63-63 tie on Thursday, and the Sundevils held on for a 67-63 road win at Liberty in boys basketball.

Treyveon Wilson, who scored eight points, added two more free throws for the final margin.

Jones had 20 points, and Carl Crayon scored 19 for Eldorado.

Ty Senor scored 19 points to lead the Patriots, who got 11 points from Ed O’Bannon.

Foothill 55, Spanish Springs 47 — At Sparks, Torrance Littles had 22 points, 10 rebounds and six blocked shots to help the Falcons top the Cougars.

Foothill held Spanish Springs to 14 second-half points.

Marcus Loadholt led the Cougars with 22 points.

Las Vegas 69, Shadow Ridge 64 — At Las Vegas, Tyler Bey scored 17 points, and the Wildcats held off a late comeback attempt by the Mustangs.

Patrick Savoy added 16 points for Las Vegas, which saw its 58-42 lead after three quarters slashed to as little as three in the fourth quarter. Dartanion Myers had 11 points, and Devon Colley scored 10 for the Wildcats.

Preston Echols had 21 points, and teammate Jerell Springer scored 13 for Shadow Ridge.

Valley 66, Palo Verde 54 — At Valley, Cameron Burton scored 16 points and had 10 assists to lead the Vikings past the Panthers.

Taveon Jackson scored 15 points, and Darrion Daniels added 14 points and eight assists for Valley, which got 11 points from Nick Brannon and 11 rebounds from Shea Garland.

Grant Dressler and Taylor Miller each scored 19 points for Palo Verde.

Centennial 70, Canyon Springs 55 — At Canyon Springs, Troy Brown, Garett Scheer and Darrian Traylor each scored 17 points to help the Bulldogs top the Pioneers.

Isaiah Banks added eight points for Centennial, which led 49-41 after three quarters.

Jordan Davis scored 17 points for Canyon Springs, which got 14 points from D’Quan Crockett.

Cheyenne 58, Cimarron-Memorial 49 — At Cimarron, Ulises Santillan had 15 points, and the Desert Shields outscored the Spartans 20-10 in the third quarter to pull away.

Bruce Gaitor and Joseph Rose each added 12 points for Cheyenne.

Demarco Alexander led Cimarron with 10 points.

Basic 90, Legacy 65 — At Legacy, Robert Sutton scored 22 points as the Wolves ran past the Longhorns.

Jared Meacham scored 21 points, Josh Villaros scored 16 points, and Jaimen Williams added 12 points for Basic.

Jalen Glover scored 16 points to lead Legacy, which got 15 points from Brody Olenslager and 12 points from Christian Solis.

Durango 76, Silverado 50 — At Silverado, Alex Tarkanian scored 20 points to lead the Trailblazers past the Skyhawks.

Victor Ross added 18 points, and Michael Diggins scored 12 for Durango, which led 49-24 at halftime.

Michael Larson had 18 points for Silverado, and teammate Matthew Arnold had seven points and nine rebounds.

Liberty Baptist 53, Innovations International 42 — At Liberty Baptist, the Eagles defeated Innovations International.
