ROUNDUP: Baggett’s second-half barrage fuels Miner boys win over Rams

Ariel Baggett scored 17 of his 29 points in the second half Wednesday to help Sunrise Mountain’s boys basketball team rally for a 56-54 win over visiting Rancho.

The Miners trailed 23-13 after one quarter and 36-28 at the half before storming back.

Ten players scored for Sunrise Mountain, but only Baggett had more than five points.

Chris Hall led Rancho with 17 points.

Chaparral 69, Las Vegas 57 — At Las Vegas, Zach Kirschbaum had 16 points to help the Cowboys down the Wildcats.

Devonte’ White added 14 points for Chaparral, which outscored Las Vegas 39-26 in the second half.

Kevin Morgan added 13 points and Jermaine Neal scored 11 for the Cowboys.

Travon Langston led the Wildcats with 16 points. George Sanico and Azim Leeks each added 10 points for the Wildcats.

Liberty 53, Basic 44 — At Basic, Kai Nacua scored 19 points to help the Patriots claim a road win over the Wolves.

Jeremy Lagasca and Aaron Navitsky each had eight points for Liberty.

Jaylene Brown led Basic with 13 points, and teammate Kyle Taitano added 10 points.

Coronado 92, Green Valley 58 — At Coronado, Austin Nelson had 27 points and eight assists to lead the Cougars to an easy victory over the Gators.

Adam Schmitt added 18 points and nine rebounds for Coronado, which led 47-26 at halftime and made 12 3-pointers.

Austin Tebbs finished with 12 points for Green Valley, which also got 11 points from Earl Thompson.

Valley 57, Desert Pines 37 — At Desert Pines, Christian Kessee, Job Williams and Caleb Carter each had 11 points to lead the Vikings past the Jaguars.

Najee McIver scored 12 points and Leon Saunders added 11 for Desert Pines.

Silverado 79, Del Sol 44 — At Del Sol, David Ware scored 25 points, and the Skyhawks blitzed to a 24-10 first-quarter lead before cruising to the win over the Dragons.

Justin Johnson added 17 points for Silverado, and teammate Ruben Jackson supplied 15 points.

David Day led Del Sol with 13 points.

Foothill 68, Tech 36 — At Foothill, Greg Cox scored 10 of his 19 points in the first quarter, helping the Falcons to an early 18-5 lead and an easy win over the Roadrunners.

Dakota Yamka added 16 points for Foothill.

Manny Gonzalez led Tech with 18 points.

Mojave 58, Virgin Valley 56 — At Virgin Valley, Jamel Chee-Ping scored 15 points, and made two free throws with five seconds remaining as the Rattlers nipped the host Bulldogs.

Andrew Lotts led Mojave with 16 points, and Joe Jenkins added eight points.

Cameron Jensen paced Virgin Valley with 29 points.
