ROUNDUP: Gaels bounce back, top Miller Grove

Shabazz Muhammad had 28 points and 15 rebounds as Bishop Gorman’s boys basketball team downed Miller Grove (Ga.) in the City of Palms Classic at Fort Myers, Fla.

Rashad Muhammad added 19 points, and Rosco Allen supplied 10 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists for the Gaels, who bounced back after an upset by Prestonwood Christian (Texas) on Monday.

Tony Parker put up 15 points and 13 rebounds for Miller Grove, which is ranked No. 4 in the nation by USA Today. Justin Colvin scored 10 points for the Wolverines.

Gorman will face UNLV signee Katin Reinhardt and Mater Dei (Calif.) at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the fifth-place game of the tournament.

Spring Valley 63, Campolindo (Calif.) 60 — At Desert Oasis, Sean Clancey drained a 3-pointer in overtime, and Justin Profit made two free throws to help it stand up as the Grizzlies won in the Las Vegas Shootout.

Ryan Vozzola tallied 17 points to lead Spring Valley, and the Grizzlies saw a 32-23 halftime lead slip away with a 21-10 third-quarter spurt by the Cougars.

Vozzola converted on 12-of-15 free throws in the second half to keep it close, and Clancey and Rahfe’l King each supplied 15 points for Spring Valley.

John Schmitz racked up 20 points to pace the Cougars.

Desert Oasis 53, Godinez (Calif.) 36 — At Desert Oasis, Anthony Lianzo tallied 24 points in leading the Diamondbacks past the Grizzlies in the Las Vegas Shootout.

Noah Jefferson added 10 points for Desert Oasis, which held Godinez to single-digit scoring in the first and fourth quarters.

Jamie Manzo had 11 points to lead the Grizzlies.

Silverado 75, Wilson (Calif.) 56 — At Desert Oasis, David Ware had 24 points as the Skyhawks cruised past Wilson.

Ruben Jackson added 20 points for Silverado, which got 14 points from Justin Johnson and 10 points from Thomas McKay.

Jack Rubin paced Wilson with 21 points.

GIRLS

Bishop Gorman 66, Dillard (Fla.) 65 — At Phoenix, Diamond Major had 16 points, and the Gaels rallied from a 46-44 third-quarter deficit to top Dillard in the Nike Tournament of Champions.

Zhane Dikes added 15 points, and April Rivers scored 13 for Gorman, which also got 10 points from Julia Ewalefo.

Gorman will face Bishop O’Dowd at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Centennial 61, Sacramento (Calif.) 54 — At Phoenix, Tamera Williams scored 14 points, and the Bulldogs raced to a 36-27 halftime lead before holding off Sacaramento in the Nike Tournament of Champions.

Paige Barber added 11 points, and Shelby Valentine scored 10 for Centennial, which will face Konawaena (Hawaii) at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
