ROUNDUP: Morgan, Topham team up to lead Palo Verde past Coronado

Moses Morgan had 21 points and Andrew Topham added 20 as Palo Verde’s boys basketball team earned a 77-69 road victory over Coronado on Thursday.

Morgan and Topham combined for 15 points during a 29-16 third-quarter run that allowed the Panthers  to build a 67-51 lead.

Nick Hipwell added 12 points for Palo Verde.

Austin Nelson led Coronado with 17 points. Gaven Holcomb added 14, and Brandon Glanz had 10 points and seven rebounds for the Cougars.

Eldorado 57, Bonanza 49 — At Eldorado, Ariel Baggett scored 18 points to help the Sundevils hang on for a win over the Bengals.

Curtis Stewart added 15 points for Eldorado, which led 28-15 at halftime.

Dasean Martin scored 30 points for Bonanza, which shot 6-for-17 from the free-throw line.

Centennial 60, Westwood (Ariz.) 38 — At Yuma, Ariz., Ben Vozzola scored 23 points, and Ryan Vozzola added 13 points and 12 rebounds as the Bulldogs beat Westwood in the opening round of the Cibola Rotary Classic.

Aaseem Dixon added 10 points for Centennial, which held an 11-2 lead after the first quarter.

Rancho 76, Tech 41 — At Rancho, the Rams went on a 23-8 run against Tech en route to the easy win.
Kris Hall had 17 points and nine rebounds, and Amir Royal had 15 points and 10 boards for Rancho.

Thomas Crockrom added 13 points and four steals for the Rams.

Michael Johnson led Tech with 13 points.

Valley 83, Liberty 66 — At Liberty, Christian Kessee and Khristian Kirkwood each scored 19 points as the Vikings downed the Patriots.

Adalberto Garcia added 17 points, and Royce Finley and Angelo Coleman each scored 10 for Valley, which outscored Liberty 28-13 in the third quarter to pull away.

Ashante Ross led Liberty with 16 points. Thomas Lauguico scored 11 points and Tim Rambo had 10 for the Patriots.

Las Vegas 92, Green Valley 60 — At Green Valley, Tyree Anderson scored 22 points as the Wildcats cruised past the Gators.

Geroge Sanico had 17 points and Centrel Landers added 16 for Las Vegas. Haasan Henderson and Saeveon Butler each tallied 10 points for the Wildcats, who outscored Green valley 51-26 in the second half.

Deandre Kambala scored 14 points and Glenn Bewley had 12 for Green Valley.

Durango 61, Cherry Creek (Colo.) 46 — At Durango, the Trailblazers had four players score in double figures to defeat the Bruins.

Devonte Williams and Stefan Colovic each scored 12 to pace Durango, which led 14-4 after one quarter. Tre’von Wells had 11 points and Yedata Demisse added 10 for the Trailblazers.

Alec Baus led Cherry Creek with 13 points.

Basic 67, Sunrise Mountain 62 — At Basic, Tyler Dobbins, John Polin and Edward Villaros each scored 11 points to lead the Wolves past the Miners.

Vince Carducci added 10 points, and Villaros had nine rebounds for Basic.

Fharhaad Zinnamon led Sunrise Mountain with 21 points. Matt Marshall added 12 points for the Miners.

Mojave 73, Boulder City 44 — At Mojave, the Rattlers jumped out to a 35-18 halftime lead and grounded the Eagles.

Royale Jackson led Mojave with 19 points, four assists, four steals and five rebounds. Caleb Maxey added 13 points, five rebounds, four steals and two assists, and Anthony Robbs scored 10 points for the Rattlers.

Michael Walker led Boulder City with 10 points.

Faith Lutheran 71, Hug 49 — At Minden, Sam Done scored 11 of his 20 points during a 21-4 first-quarter burst that helped the Crusaders down the Hawks in the Douglas Tournament.

Greg Thomas and Brett Lubbe each scored 12 points for Faith Lutheran, which used a 23-6 third-quarter run to put the game away.

Community Charter (Calif.) 71, Silverado 55 — At Silverado, Josh Greene had 28 points as the Titans downed the Skyhawks.

Silverado’s Duane Marshall scored 16 points, and David Lutomski added 13 points for the Skyhawks.

Mountain View 68, Reedley (Calif.) 62 — At Kingsburg, Calif., Justyn Anderson scored 31 points, including six in overtime to lead the Saints to a victory in the Kingsburg Tournament.

Trevor Van Kempen added 10 for Mountain View.

Jordan Rodgers had 21 points for Reedley.

Indian Springs 53, The Meadows JV 20 — At Indian Springs, Adam Reinke scored 17 points to lead the Thunderbirds past The Meadows’ junior varsity squad.

Chasen Malden added 14 points for Indian Springs.

Adelson School 33, Sandy Valley 10 — At Sandy Valley, Gabi Bornstein scored 11 points to lead the Lions past the Sidewinders.

Nathan Plaza led Sandy Valley with five points.

Elko 74, West Wendover 54 — At Elko, the host Indians built a 45-24 halftime lead and cruised past the Wolverines on the first day of the Red Lion Basketball Tournament.

Drew Arrien led West Wendover with 19 points. Miles Bostock scored 17 points for the Wolverines.
