ROUNDUP: Robotham’s late three gives Gorman’s boys a win

Noah Robotham’s 3-pointer with 14.6 seconds remaining lifted Bishop Gorman to a 58-57 win over Blanche Ely (Fla.) in the opening round of the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, Fla., on Friday.

Benji Bell made two free throws with 32.4 seconds remaining to give the Tigers a 57-55 lead. Ely triple-teamed Shabazz Muhammad on the next possession, leaving Robotham open for the 3-pointer.

Ely missed a potential game-winning shot from down low just before time expired.

Muhammad finished with 27 points and eight rebounds, and Robotham was 5-for-5 from the field and finished with 12 points.

Demetris Morant had five assists and five blocked shots for Gorman.

Bell led Ely with 16 points.

The Gaels grabbed an early 13-5 lead, but Ely rallied and took a 30-27 advantage in the second quarter before Gorman responded to take a 37-34 lead into halftime, and neither team led by more than four points in the final 12 minutes.

Sierra Vista 66, Western 62 — At Western, Wesley Rouse scored 15 points, including a 7-for-8 effort from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter, to help the Mountain Lions edge the Warriors.

Sean Williams had 12 points for Sierra Vista, which made a free throw with 37 seconds left to take a three-point lead, then forced a turnover to preserve the win.

Nate Johnson scored 17 points, and Aldo Arpero and Darion Murray each had 11 points for Western.

Cheyenne 69, Cimarron-Memorial 47 — At Cimarron, Gary Stewart had 16 points, and Jamal Peterson scored 14 to lead the Desert Shields past the Spartans.

Jaquon Coleman added 10 points for Cheyenne, which outscored Cimarron 36-20 in the second half.

Erik Brewer and Arin Henderson each had 11 points for Cimarron.

Centennial 66, Arbor View 51 — At Centennial, Malcolm Allen scored 17 points, and Marcus Allen added 16 points to lead the Bulldogs over the Aggies.

Neiman Lee had 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Evan Martin had nine points and 10 rebounds for Centennial.

Blake Claxton and Blake Truman each scored 13 points and Justin Burks added 10 points to lead Arbor View.

Legacy 63, Faith Lutheran 48 — At Legacy, Chris Cook had 19 points to help the Longhorns beat the Crusaders.

Donovon Gray hit three 3-pointers, finishing with 18 points, to help Legacy pull away in the second half. Teammate Cardon Harris finished with 10 points.

D.J. Manning had 13 points to lead Faith Lutheran.

Clark 78, Pahrump Valley 39 — At Clark, Diontae Jones led five double-figure-scorers with 17 points, and the Chargers outscored the Trojans 42-22 in the middle two quarters on the way to the win.

DeAndre Henderson added 13 points, and Bryan McGriff and Sir Washington each had 12 points for Clark, which also got 11 points from Colby Jackson.

Adam Brand led Pahrump with 13 points.

Palo Verde 67, Mojave 21 — At Palo Verde, Michael Buchanan scored 19 points, and Jordyn Martin added 11 points as the Panthers routed the Rattlers.

Eris Winder and Nahjee Matlock each scored 10 points for Palo Verde.

Rancho 61, Moapa Valley 39 — At Rancho, Ciaran Subria scored 24 points to help the Rams cruise past the Pirates.

R-Mond Hill added 13 points for Rancho, and teammate Chris Beverly added 12 points.

Kasen Hughes finished with 10 points to lead Moapa Valley.

Boulder City 56, Shadow Ridge 52 — At Shadow Ridge, Kaleb Bailey scored 13 points and the Eagles outscored the Mustangs 17-9 in the fourth quarter to come away with the win.

Michael Walker added 10 points for Boulder City.

Will Martin led Shadow Ridge with 18 points. Nick Flowers added 10 points, and teammate Malcolm Davis had eight points and 14 rebounds for the Mustangs.

Mountain View (Ariz.) 66, Canyon Springs 54 — At Orem, Utah, Camyn Boone had 36 points to help Mountain View top the Pioneers in the Great Western Shootout.

Gerad Davis led Canyon Springs with 15 points. Nick Scott added 13 points, and Shaquille Carr scored 12 for the Pioneers.

Lincoln County 80, White Pine 68 — At Panaca, the Lynx led 44-23 at the half and held on to defeat the Bobcats.

Chandler Katschke and Ryan Rippetoe each had 27 points and eight rebounds to lead Lincoln County.

Jay Gubler scored 25 points for White Pine.

Needles 44, Mohave (Ariz.) 30 — At Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Michael Hills scored 18 points, and the Mustangs roared back from a 16-14 halftime deficit to beat the Thunderbirds in the Knights Holiday Classic.

Lewie Larrabee added 12 points for Needles.

Needles 46, Parker (Ariz.) 37 — At Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Aaron Burns had 14 points and 11 rebounds as the Mustangs topped the Broncs in the Knights Holiday Classic.

Hills had 11 points and seven rebounds for Needles.

Laughlin 43, Spring Mountain 40 — At Laughlin, Colton Hill had 16 points as the Cougars held off the Eagles.

Averie Prosise added 10 points for Laughlin, which led 17-3 after one quarter.

Marquion White led Spring Mountain with 19 points, and teammate Roemello Brandon added 13 points.

The Meadows 52, Pahranagat Valley 41 — At The Meadows, Garrett Gosse scored 15 points to help the Mustangs hold off the Panthers.

Matt Biafore added 11 points for the Meadows, which led 20-2 after the first quarter.

Chase Hansen scored 22 points to lead Pahranagat Valley.

Sandy Valley 45, Beaver Dam (Ariz.) 40 — At Littlefield, Ariz., Ryan Hagan had 17 points as the Sidewinders outlasted Beaver Dam.

Brandon Hughes added 16 points for Sandy Valley.

Mountain View JV 82, Word of Life 52 — At Mountain View, Jacob Lee led five double-figure scorers with 22 points as the Saints’ junior varsity routed the Eagles.

Nick Jenkins added 13 points, and Trenton Van Kempen, Ian Locke and Zach Rodriguez each scored 11 points for Mountain View.

Joe Visser paced Word of Life with 15 points, and teammate Emeka Okafor added 13 points.
