ROUNDUP: Schmitt’s late push sends Coronado boys past host Liberty

Adam Schmitt scored nine of his 11 points in the fourth quarter Thursday as Coronado’s boys basketball team rallied for a 60-54 road victory over Liberty.

Liberty led 25-11 after one quarter, and took a 45-36 lead into the final period before the Cougars put together the come-from-behind win.

Michael Louder paced Coronado with 18 points, and teammate Drew Badillo scored 12.

Aaron Navitsky led Liberty with 19 points. Jeremy Lagasca added 11 points for the Patriots.

Basic 65, Silverado 59 — At Silverado, Vince Carducci scored six of his game-high 17 points in the fourth quarter to help the Wolves rally past the Skyhawks.

DeVonte Boyd added 12 points for Basic, which finished with nine 3-pointers.

Alex Paula scored 16 points to pace Silverado, which led 46-43 after three quarters.

Foothill 67, Green Valley 60 — At Green Valley, Greg Cox scored 22 points, and the Falcons used a 22-14 third-quarter run to take a seven-point lead and held on to top the Gators.

Brannon Cresanto added 17 points and Augy French had 12 for Foothill.

Mike Thornton led Green Valley with 18 points and six assists. Keiannte Wilkins scored 14 for the Gators.

Del Sol 51, Tech 43 — At Tech, Chris Marshall and James Johnson each scored 10 points to help the Dragons get past the Roadrunners.

David Day added eight points for Del Sol, which took over with a 15-5 third-quarter run.

Michael Johnson led Tech with 21 points.

Sierra Vista 66, Desert Oasis 59 — At Desert Oasis, Viko Noma’aea totaled 35 points to lift the Mountain Lions over the Diamondbacks.

Maiscei Grier added 20 points for Sierra Vista, which outscored Desert Oasis 18-8 in the third quarter to take a 48-36 lead.

Cameron Mich’l led the Diamondbacks with 32 points. Anthony Lianzo scored 17 for Desert Oasis.

Valley 83, Rancho 69 — At Rancho, Christian Kessee had 33 points tolead the Vikings past the Rams.

Angelo Coleman added 19 points, and Jarrett Coleman scored 16 for Valley.

Kris Hall led Rancho with 21 points. Ciaran Subira added 15 points for the Rams.

Canyon Springs 89, Desert Pines 60 — At Canyon Springs, Michael Thompson had 20 points, six assists, six rebounds and four steals to help the Pioneers rout the Jaguars.

Trey Evans added 17 points for Canyon Springs, and teammate Chris Willis finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Najee McIver scored 13 points for Desert Pines.

Chaparral 51, Sunrise Mountain 18 — At Sunrise Mountain, Zach Kirschbaum had 11 points and Jermaine Neal 10 as the Cowboys cruised past the Miners.

Chaparral led 17-1 after one quarter.

The Meadows 100, Aussie Travelers 43 — At The Meadows, Max Newman hit five 3-pointers en route to 33 points to lead the Mustangs in a rout.

Garrett Gosse added 20 points, and Eric Hirsberg scored 12 for The Meadows, which hit nine 3-pointers.

Adelson School 86, Word of Life 62 — At Word of Life, Jackson Wessells scored 18 points to lead five scorers in double figures as the Lions cruised past the Eagles.

Nick Bembenek had 14 points, Matt Hapmson added 12, Robert Blackwell supplied 11, and Gabi Bornstein contributed 10 for Adelson.
