ROUNDUP: Vikings overcome 20-point deficit to upset Wildcats

Christian Kessee hit two free throws with 0.8 seconds left to give Valley’s boys basketball team a 71-70 win over visiting Las Vegas on Tuesday.

The Vikings trailed 23-3 after one quarter before mounting the comeback.

Royce Finley scored 20 points to lead Valley, which had 34 points in the paint.

Kessee added 15 points, Jarrett Coleman netted 11 and Job Williams had 10 points for Valley.

Tyree Anderson led Las Vegas with 22 points. Hasaan Henderson added 16 points and George Sanico contributed 12 for the Wildcats.

Desert Pines 62, Chaparral 60 — At Chaparral, the Jaguars overcame a 36-29 halftime deficit to edge the Cowboys.

Tyler Larson had 18 points to lead Desert Pines. Caleb Myles added 11 points and Dominique Lawrence had 10 for the Jaguars.

Bre Onte Griffin and Chris Goodloe each scored 17 points for Chaparral. Jermaine Neal added 10 points for the Cowboys.

Durango 71, Clark 61 — At Clark, Devonte Williams scored 13 of his 18 points in the first half to help the visiting Trailblazers beat the Chargers.

Greg Gentry scored 13 points for Durango.

Steven Dancy had 11 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter to help Clark close within five, but the Trailblazers held on. Alejandro Rangel added 16 points for the Chargers.

Rancho 73, Eldorado 54 — At Rancho, Tyler Gaston had 16 points and 19 rebounds to lead four Rams in double figures as they cruised past the Sundevils.

Kris Hall had 13 points, Amir Royal supplied 11 points and 11 rebounds and Antonio Boucher added 11 points for Rancho.

Eldorado’s Curtis Stewart led all scorers with 28 points.

Desert Oasis 73, Bonanza 55 — At Bonanza, Cameron Mich’l scored 28 points to lead the Diamondbacks past the Bengals.

Nick Cruz added 11 points for Desert Oasis, which led 28-11 after the first quarter.

Dasean Martin led Bonanza with 10 points and four assists.

Western 71, Pahrump Valley 49 — At Western, Kentrell Washington had 18 points and six rebounds to help the Warriors rout the Trojans.

Sir Washington added 12 points for Western.

Pahrump’s Alex Anderson had 11 points, and teammate Shane Lindemann scored 10 for the Trojans.

Bishop Gorman 91, Sierra Vista 56 — At Sierra Vista, Shabazz Muhammad scored 16 points, and the Gaels busted out to a 29-11 first-quarter lead and cruised past the Mountain Lions.

Johnathan Loyd added 12 points, Anson Winder had 11 and Ryan Parks contributed 10 for Gorman.

Viko Noma’aea led Sierra Vista with 20 points, and teammate Justice Odabi scored 17.

Canyon Springs 107, Sunrise Mountain 52 — At Sunrise Mountain, Jeremy Alexander led five Pioneers in double figures with 24 points as they routed the Miners.

Adrian Snow had 19 points, Jared Brandon added 18, Michael Thompson scored 16 and Marquan Webster chipped in 10 for Canyon Springs, which led 58-17 at halftime.

Matthew Marshall scored 16 points and Anthony Burgess added 14 for Sunrise Mountain.

Trinity 70, Spring Mountain 50 — At Mirabelli Community Center, Budweiser Hawkins scored 39 points to carry the Thunder past the Eagles.

Tyler Watts added 10 points for Trinity, which outscored Spring Mountain 24-11 in the fourth quarter.

Jeremy Johnson led Spring Mountain with 16 points. Brock McQuade and Leon Saunders each added 12 points for the Eagles.

Calvary Chapel 65, The Meadows 57 — At Calvary Chapel, Brandon Corbitt and Joey Peterson each scored 16 points as the Lions beat the Mustangs.

Justin Cox added 14 points for Calvary Chapel, which took control with an 18-9 edge in the third quarter.

Austin Brown led The Meadows with 17 points. Garrett Gosse added 15 points, and Bobby Pisanelli scored 10 for the Mustangs.

Lincoln County 86, Mountain View 58 — At Mountain View, Dantley Walker had 33 points and Eric Rippetoe 23 to lead the Lynx past the Saints.

Justyn Anderson scored 17 points and Cortland LeBoeuf added 15 for Mountain View.

Lincoln County outscored the Saints 57-27 in the second half.

Lake Mead 67, Indian Springs 27 — At Lake Mead, the Eagles jumped out to a 42-16 halftime lead and cruised past the Thunderbirds.

Landon Littlefield had 13 points and four assists for Lake Mead. L.J. Yamazon scored 11 points and Alex Uceda added 10 for the Eagles, who held the Thunderbirds to seven points in the middle quarters.

Adam Reinke led Indian Springs with 11 points.

West Wendover 70, White Pine 56 — At West Wendover, Drew Arrien and Kevin Ramirez each scored 16 points to lead the Wolverines past the Bobcats.

Avery Arrien added 10 points for West Wendover, which outscored White Pine 29-18 in the second quarter.

Michael Johnson led White Pine with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Sandy Valley 56, Death Valley (Calif.) 31 — At Shoshone, Calif., Patrick Hartung scored 17 points to lead the Sidewinders to the win.

Ryan Hagan added 12 points and Daniel Soto 10 points for Sandy Valley, which led 37-16 at halftime.
