ROUNDUP: Walker sets single-game record in Lynx’s win over Stars

Lincoln County senior Dantley Walker scored 73 points Tuesday to set a Nevada single-game scoring record and lead the Lynx to a 101-86 win over visiting Agassi Prep.

According to the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association record book, Walker’s mark topped the previous record of 70 points scored by Jim Summers of Douglas in 1952.

Walker hit 10 3-pointers, and also contributed seven rebounds and seven assists.

It was Walker’s third game with at least 62 points this season. He had 64 on Jan. 22, allowing him to top the state’s all-time career scoring mark previously held by Luke Babbitt of Galena. Walker currently has 3,102 career points.

Chandler Katschke added 19 points and 13 rebounds for Lincoln County.

Quincy Brown scored 18 to lead Agassi Prep. Anson Williams added 16 points for the Stars.

Rancho 69, Sunrise Mountain 64 — At Rancho, Kris Hall had 25 points and 19 rebounds to lead the Rams past the Miners.

Chris Beverly had 16 points and Ciaran Subira scored 10 for Rancho.

Ariel Baggett had 25 points to lead Sunrise Mountain.

Las Vegas 55, Chaparral 44 — At Chaparral, Hasaan Henderson scored 27 points, and the Wildcats grabbed a 34-18 halftime lead in a win over the Cowboys.

Phil Dunigan added 12 points for Las Vegas.

Zach Kirschbaum paced Chaparral with 15 points. Jermaine Neal added 12 points, and Devonte’ White scored 11 for the Cowboys.

Valley 89, Desert Pines 62 — At Valley, Caleb Carter had 22 points and eight rebounds to lead the Vikings past the Jaguars.

Jarrett Coleman added 17 points, and Angelo Coleman had 13 points for the Vikings, who got 10 points from O’Neil Brauthigam.

Najee McIver led Desert Pines with 16 points. Joshua Velarde added 13 points, and Leon Saunders scored 10 for the Jaguars.

Needles 84, Mountain View 75 — At Mountain View, Michael Hills scored 32 points, and Aaron Burns added 25 points as the Mustangs ran past the Saints.

Justyn Anderson had 55 points, 10 rebounds and four steals to lead Mountain View, which got 12 points and 10 rebounds from Mathew Larson.

Lake Mead 78, Calvary Chapel 56 — At Lake Mead, L.J. Yamzon drained five 3-pointers in the first quarter and finished with 30 points to led the Eagles over the Lions.

Dylan Bradley added 13 points for Lake Mead, which built a 45-22 halftime lead. 

Bobby Buist paced Calvary Chapel with 19 points.

Indian Springs 54, Trinity 44 — At Indian Springs, Dominic Morgando scored 35 points to lead the Thunderbirds past the Thunder.

Chasen Malden added 13 points for the Thunderbirds.

Chris Bautista led Trinity with 24 points.
